Daniel Ciobanu, 26 years old pianist, currently studying his 2nd masters Degree in Berlin under the tutelage of Pascal Devoyon. Graduated his 1st Masters studies with a 1st class honours Bachelors degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), under the tutelage of Aaron Shorr, Petras Geniusas and Steven Osborne.
Awardee of two very important diplomas in France , the “Concertiste Diplome” and a “6eme Diplome d’Execution” with “ l’Unanimite et avec le Felicitations du Jury” , in the Ecole Normale de Musique of Paris.
During his Bachelor and Masters Studies in Scotland he was generously supported by the ABRSM with full tuition scholarship and the RCS Trustees for his living expenses which offered him the comfort to study intensively resulting in winning all the major internal Piano Competitions held between the students in the conservatoire, being a historic first for a pupil to achieve such results.
In 2017 Daniel won the 2nd Prize at the world renowned competition “Arthur Rubinstein” in Tel-Aviv, Israel, alongside a very prestigious award of the “Audience Favourite” Priz, launching a strong career with some debut concerts including Carnegie Hall in New York, and Wigmore Hall in London, besides concert tours in Japan, China, South Africa and Taiwan.
In 2016 Daniel won major International competitions including the 1st Prize and Special Prize for best “Classical Sonata” from the prestigious World Federation Competition “UNISA International Piano Competition” in Pretoria, South Africa, 1st prize at “Sheepdrove Intercollegiate Piano Competition” in UK and most recently 1st Prize at the “BNDES International Piano Competition” held in Rio de Janeiro .
Throughout the past few years Daniel was invited to perform along Lang Lang in the Royal Festival Hall in London, was awarded the “Yamaha Music Foundation Europe Scholarship”, 1st and Special Prize in the “Moray Piano Competition” in Elgin, 1st Prize and Public Prize in “Bromsgrove International Young Musicians’Competition” and the “1st Grand Prix”, Public Prize and Orchestra Prize in the “Morocco Philarmonique International Piano Concerto Competition” 2015 , being the first pianist in the history of the competition to have won all the Special prizes along with being unanimously voted by the jury for the 1st prize.
Recent prestigious events and concerthalls he performed include “TELAVI Festival” (Tbilisi), “Aldwell Center” (Jersusalem), “Teatro Verdi” (Trieste, Italy), “Charles Bronfman Auditorium” (Tel-Aviv, Israel), “Pianofortissimo Festival” (Bologna, Italy) , “Teatro Municipal” (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) , “Baxter Hall” (Cape Town, South Africa) “Fazioli Concert Series” (Sacile, Italy), “Bechstein Concert Tour” ( 6 concerts in China), “Animato Series” and “Auvers-sur-Oise Festival” (Paris), “Edinburgh Fringe Festival” and “Newbury Spring Festival” in UK, and “Arte con Anima” in Greece.
Performed with many renowned orchestras including the “Israeli Camerata” and “Israelian Philharmonic Orchestra” in Tel-Aviv, “Mihail Jora” Orchestra from Bacau, “Cergy Pontoise” Orchestra Paris, “Chapelle Musicale de Tournai” Belgium, “Royal Conservatoire of Scotland” Symphony Orchestra, “Orchestra Philarmonique du Maroc”, the “Royal Scottish National Orchestra”, “Johanesburg Symphony Orchestra”, “Orquestra Sinfonica do Brazil” and the “KZN Philharmonic Orchestra”, and had masterclasses with prestigious musicians such as Steven Osborne, Richard Goode, Idil Biret, Philip Fowke, Petras Geniusas and Ian Fountain.
